Overview
Grade 10 is a pivotal year at ILAC International High School, where students continue building on the foundation laid in Grade 9 and begin to explore their academic interests in greater depth. It is also the year when students complete the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT)—a key requirement for earning the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
In Grade 10, students take a mix of compulsory and elective courses, which may include:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Canadian History
- Civics & Citizenship (0.5 credit)
- Career Studies (0.5 credit)
- Health & Physical Education
- French or another elective such as Business, Visual Arts, or Computer Studies
This year is also important for academic planning. Students receive guidance on course selection, study skills, and long-term goals as they begin to think about the specializations or post-secondary pathways they may want to pursue in Grades 11 and 12.
ILAC International High School supports students with personalized attention, a diverse and inclusive learning environment, and a strong focus on developing academic English skills. Teachers and counselors work closely with each student to help them succeed both in the classroom and in their future academic journeys.
Grade 10 is not just about academics—it’s also a time for personal growth. Through extracurricular activities, school events, and leadership opportunities, students continue to build confidence, form lasting friendships, and become active members of the school community.
